Finding a place to call home can be a challenge for older adults. Area Agency on Aging has programs to assist them in finding a place that fits their needs, such as:
Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver Program - Provides assistance for people who would like to move from a nursing facility to an assisted living facility using Medicaid dollars. This option is also open to people on Medicaid Waiver programs in the community. Assisted Living Consumer Guide
Residential State Supplement (RSS) Program - Provides cash payment to low-income, blind or disabled adults (18 and over) who need assistance with daily activities such as bathing, eating or dressing, but do not require the skilled nursing care provided in a nursing home.
Finding the Right Place to Live - Offers assistance with older adult placement in nursing facilities, or other options for older adults to call home.
